Woody Weed Bioherbicide
Stump sprouting woody weeds cause problems in forest regeneration areas, riparian areas, water catchment, hydro-dam areas, wetlands, under electric lines, above gas pipe lines, on roadsides and railways. Basidiomycete Chondrostereum purpureum has been exploited to control Willow, Poplar/ Aspens, Birches, Pin cherry, Maples, Red alder in Canada, USA, Finland, Netherlands and New Zealand.
